Dear friends,
I am honored to attend the Global Ministries Consultation on Multi-Cultural, Multi-Racial and Multi-Ethnic Congregational Development, hosted by The General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, September 20-22 in San Antonio, TX. This was the very first consultation in our denomination on multi-cultural/racial/lingual/ethnic ministries. There were pastors, practitioners, social scientist, musician, author, seminary professor and Global Ministries staff members, who came from many different cities to share what each one has been doing in this growing ministry across our great land. A document of our findings will be written for the use of local churches and ministries in our denomination. This consultation has affirmed our amazing work at Brentwood in many ways.
Brentwood Cafe will be this Sunday, September 26. Lunch will be served two times at around 10:45 AM and 12:30 PM. Your donation will benefit our church general budget. Thank you, and many thanks to Sue Alberts, who has been organizing these events in the past several months.

A small group of grant writers met last week to prepare to write an Implementation Grant for Hispanic/Latino Ministry at our church. Please pray for the grant writers, who are Shelley Yetter, Sandra Jimenez, Pastor Manuel Jimenez, Pastor Linda Cheek and Pastor Tan Nguyen. Our next meeting will be at 1 PM next Monday, September 27. Let me know if you like to help, thanks.

A light lunch and cake will be served. Shelley says, cards only! your presence is a gift. Please do not tell Vera!! You can reach Shelley at 303-918-3823.
We will receive new church members on Sunday, November 7. Please let Pastor Tan, Pastor Linda or Sandra know of your intention to join our church membership.
We plan to give Bibles to our 3rd graders and older children who do not have their own copies. Please let Ron McWilliams, Education chairman, know the names of these children. We will present these Bibles to our children on the Bible Sunday, November 21.
