Brentwood friends and families,

We are in the middle of the Vacation Bible School week, July 26-31.  It has been a wonderful time for our children of all colors and races joining in singing, playing, and studying the word of God together.  This year we have an opportunity to welcome Pastor Betty Nguyen and several children from our sister church Bethany United Methodist Church.  We have about 31 children and over 20 adult volunteers.  Sandra Jimenez directs our VBS again this year.  We will have a VBS Party for the children and their families this Saturday at church from 10 AM to 1 PM.  The children will also have a special presentation at both 9:45 AM and 11:15 AM services this Sunday.

We received a sad news that Maxine Burton passed away this past Tuesday, July 27.  Her funeral service will be held at Brentwood United Methodist Church at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 4, followed with a reception, then the Graveside service will be at 2 PM at Olinger Crown Hill, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.  The visiting time will be at Olinger Crown Hill on Tuesday, August 3, from 3 to 8 PM.  May God be with Maxine’s children, their families and our church family.

One of our members had asked his employer to donate its one-year-old portable air conditioner, which was installed yesterday by our trustees in the sanctuary.  We are thankful to God for answering our prayer to have cooler air in the sanctuary where we hold three worship services every Sunday.  We continue to pray for a few more units like this one in order to get the whole sanctuary air conditioned.  Our trustees need your assistance to haul a swam cooler to the roof of the education building for cooling off the Fellowship Hall.  Mike Ellis chairs the Trustees Committee.  Please let him know if you can help, thanks.
