Brentwood eNEWS

August 27, 2010

My friends!

Several members of Brentwood church will join the 5k Walk/Run tomorrow morning, Saturday, August 28 at Bear Creek Park (Hampden & Raleigh).  I will be among the walkers.  For the first time ever, we will have all Anglo, Vietnamese and Hispanic walkers/runners from Brentwood church joining our effort to raise funds for Community Ministry, a relief agency in SouthWest Denver Area.  Let’s meet at the park at 8:30 AM, and the event will end with a picnic at 11 AM.  We need more sponsors and cheerleaders like you!

Our children are getting back to schools for another year.  Please remember them and their educators in your prayers.  We pray for their success and safety.  We must continue our support and encouragement to our students for their advancement in education.  Why don’t we take a time to talk and encourage our students this weekend?

This Sunday, August 29 we will have the following meetings scheduled:
11:15 AM Anglo Worship Committee, Joanna McCaig chairs this committee
4 PM Church Education Committee, Ron McWilliams chairs this committee

Pastor Linda will attend the RIM (Residency in Ministry) event, August 31 - September 2, at Saint Malo Retreat Center.  This is the first of two required RIM events that a provisional elder needs to attend.  Please keep Pastor Linda in our prayers.

A Memorial Service for Marjorie Couch has been scheduled at 3 PM on Friday, September 3 in our church sanctuary.

Our Sunday School classes will resume on Sunday, September 12.

A Confirmation/Baptism Class for our children, aged 10 to 15, will also start at 11:45 AM on Sunday, September 12.  Please register with Pastor Linda.  We need more mentors for our students, please contact Pastor Linda.

Our District Superintendent, The Rev. Dr. Youngsook Kang, has announced that our cluster charge conference this year will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 20 at Phillips UMC.

Every Sunday we worship in English at 9:45 AM, in Vietnamese at 11:15 AM and in Spanish at 5 PM.  We will be glad to worship with you this Sunday!

Until the next Brentwood eNEWS, keep on praying, attending, serving, giving and witnessing!

Pastor Tan
